Bio

After nearly 20 years on the East Coast and some time abroad, I settled in Washington for grad school and never left. My family and I live in the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley, east of Seattle and nestled between waterfalls and the mountains. For the last 20 years I've worked to ensure individuals thrive - primarily in the areas of education and healthy aging. I taught Sociology for 5 years - and even taught abroad. I worked at Bellevue College Foundation giving away scholarships and grants and helping to run a nonprofit. Since 2015, I have served as Executive Director of the local senior center. It seems a little thing but we own apartments and run the local bus system in addition to operating the center. I married David in 2008. He is a talented arborist and avid snowboarder and mountain biker. Good thing we live at the foot of the mountains. We have a son, Damien, who has his dad's talents for mountain sports and bikes. Our kiddo travels extensively for BMX and mountain biking races. To me, Damien is a rockstar. I'm happy to work, live and raise my son small community - it reminds me a lot of everything that was great about Elkhorn.
